I have been a school teacher for 31 years and retired 4 years
ago. I taught several fishing classes at Hermitage both during school
and at summer school. I have been taking people fishing all my life
and about 12 years ago my wife told me that I need to start getting
paid for taking all these people fishing. So I started Coaches Guide
Service. I have lived here at Pomme de terre for 24 years. I've have
been to Canada 25 times and several times in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
I am a Veitnam veteran and served with C Co., 1st Battalion of the
11th Infantry at Quang Tri, Vietnam on the DMZ. I served as a Platoon
leader and Company Commander, and I am proud to have served my Country.
The main species I guide for is Muskie, but in the spring I guide
for Crappie an Walleye. Having fished the Pomme de Terre Muskies Inc.
Tournament since 1988, the Professional Musky Tournament Trail in 2005,
and Lake Kinkaid Illinois Fall Brawl Tournament since 2001 with the
following results.
1989 - Won Big fish in Pomme Tournament (only muskie I ever kept)
1991 - Tied for 1st place Pomme Tournament Masters Division
1992 - Won Pomme Tournament Masters Division
2002 - Won Pomme Muskie Tournament Masters Division
2003 - Big Fish Fall Brawl Lake Kinkade
2004 - Won Fall Brawl Lake Kinkade (with partner Matt Ginnings)
2004 - Most Muskies caught on Pomme de Terre by Muskies Inc.
2005 - Most Muskies caught on Pomme de Terre by Muskies Inc.
2005 - Won Pomme Muskie Tournament (with partner Matt Ginnings)
2005 - 16th place in Professional Musky Tournament at Pomme with Matt
Ginnings
2008 - Won Pomme Team Tournament (with Matt Ginnings)
In 2004 my clients and myself netted 100 Muskies and all but 8 were
in Pomme de Terre Lake.
I love to teach first time muskie fishermen how to fish for these
toothy critters. When the catch one I am about as thrilled as they
are. If you want to learn how to catch a muskie, you need to fish with
me. I am confident we can catch one!
